Ammo price

Buy low, sell high. Demand is high, supply is low.
If prices paid weren't high enough, people with excess wouldn't be motivated to sell and other people would go ammo-less.
What is the best legal way to sell excess at this peak?
To a LGS?Comment

Depending on how long I can’t work , I may have to sell too. Not a lot of cash though . I did squirrel away 8000 rounds .Comment

Dan Kash (LAX Ammo owner) made a video recently where he addresses folks' concerns about their shipments and concerns about retail stock. Distributors are lagging, as are perhaps manufacturers. He says there may be slightly longer waits, but that 9mm will be in stock although it sells quickly. No one is going to stop making ammo, nor will distibutors stop shipping it unless we all tip over and die from Covid-19.TurboChrisB
LAX shows just about EVERYTHING out of stock.
I can't find the vid, but this is posted on their website's home page:

That happens often, I bought over 5 thousand rds of 223 six months ago for average price of .15 a round and for one cent more per round I picked up a couple cases of .308 The guy just had way to much and decided to dump it.
Walmart is never where I look for bargain prices on ammo
... Ammo here is pretty normal right now so, even when it goes up it still comes back down to a normal prices again.

I dont think it will take years to back to normal. I think the wharehouses where fully stocked with reserves and that is whats being distrod right now. Once this pandemic is over it will resume regular buissines and level out quickly.

400 bucks for 1k of 9mm. where are you buying your ammo. Thats crazy. You shouldnt be spending more than 200 bucks on a 1000 rounds of 9mm. Who ever you bought your ammo from is gouging prices and you are supposed to report them for it. Thats illegal.
Prices in my area havent changed one bit since this whole COVID-19 thing and everyone started going nuts and making a run on guns and ammo. The private mom and pop stores prices have remained the same and the warehouse stores prices have remained the same around her. i can still walk into any of these stores right now and buy a 1000 rounds of 9mm for less than 200 bucks. I know this because I just purchased 500 rounds of 9mm about a week ago and it was 9.97 a box.Comment

Even the brass price went up little bit too. I think some people are dispersed.

That's still no excuse for higher ammo prices and higher firearm prices in California. If anything prices should be much lower on every firearm since they are butchered. The manufacturers didn't intend to sell them butchered and ****ed up. The other 49 states FFLs and law enforcement will tell you this.Probably going to see a lot of the higher prices for some time and maybe even higher. Then there will be none for a while. Being in Calif. will bring a premium price just because it is Calif. and that's for just about anything you want to by not just a box of bullets. I haven't seen any of that kind of gouging going on here ....yet, but would bet a dime it will. Good luck with finding what you want and if I was you and if I found it I wouldn't be to picky about the price.
Out of state (in the most rural areas) PMC bronze (556/223) is $6.95 to $9.95 for a box of 20 rounds, as it should be. It's not worth a dime more, regardless of demand which again is low in out of state towns.
I don't condone anything illegal and my posts are an FYI so Californians are aware.Last edited by Endless; 03-30-2020, 10:23 PM.Comment
