Test drive all of them once a range is open. You may have a eye opener once you are done.

I shoot a lot of glocks. 1911 are just as reliable. The only thing is lack of capacity. But they are a lot more accurate.

I like the mc operator. For the money it is a great deal.

Though I'd probably go fixed sight on the back end.

You could say that again... I should have gotten two when I had the chance. One to keep and the other to play with... *sigh* Regret is always at the end...

I missed this earlier today. Explain to me how you can get a Colt pistol from a California gun shop that is not a private party transaction.

There are no Colt pistols on the roster. There are 7 revolvers and that's it.

Never said it was on the roster. All I said was that Off Roster Premium $$$ nor PPT are NOT required.

Here, CalGuns.Net - NIB Colt Gold Cup at a local store...

I didn't say that you said it was on the roster. I'm well aware of the wording in your original post.
The Colt you posted is not C&R exempt nor is it Olympic Pistol exempt. It is a
current Gold Cup NM and the page specifically says Restrictions: California.
If you read more than the first few posts on the forum page you linked to you will see that many disagree that the Gold Cup is exempt for either of the two reasons I mentioned.
Even if the OP was able to find a roster exempt Colt pistol, which I seriously doubt he will, it would not fall into his $1,000 to $1,500 price range.

Theres someone that has a Sig TacOps in your area, the ad is in the maket place here. If I remember correctly, its new and $900.

Get the Sig 1911 and you will be very happy. But I would hit up a store and put your hands on several 1911's to see how they feel, not all are the same like Glocks.

I own several 1911's from RIA to Cabot and The Sig 1911 is a great starter gun.

All the hate towards Kimber makes me laugh, but they are fine as well as Springfield for the money.

                                45 ACP for the win.
