Good timing, told my wife earlier today that I was going to put a pair on each side of the bed and to put them on when I tell her to.

Also said it was going to be loud, damaging loud without them.

Always have a set on each side of the bed and in the hallway cupboard. It has been my practice for years.

I thought so as well. But I find them disorienting. Without practice I feel t would be hard to identify the location of the noise with certainty.

Never considered it, seems ok at first, but the more I think about it the last thing I need to be doing in a situation where I'd be going for nightstand gun in the dark is messing with muffs/plugs

Do any of you actually believe that you'll have enough time to put on hearing protection after being asleep, grabbing your weapon, before a threat is up close and personal? Last thing I'd be worried about before protecting my wife.
