Using Freedom Week Glock, Ruger magazines at the range

I have yet to ever hear about people losing mags at the range. Generally what I have heard is from people that get stopped on the way home after shooting, usually because they broke the law speeding or doing something stupid.

They check magazines when they pull someone over for speeding now? I’ve never heard of that happening. And they confiscate Freedom Week magazines even though they’re legal? This has lawsuit written all over it.

Many, most ranges don't care. It is not our job to enforce CA laws nor are we required to. Most of RO's just think someone is an idiot that shows up with his 32 round Glock stick magazine hanging out of his G17. Other than that, we just don't care. Follow the rules of that particular range and you shouldn't have any issues.

when using a standard cap magazine , I stop every 10 rds for a few seconds just in case a nosey person is counting my rounds, do 10 rd bursts so they think your changing mags

Why? Freedom Week magazines are legal to possess and use.

So why do you need a 10+ round mag at the range, anyway? I suppose you could say that you need to 'function check' your firearm with it, but otherwise it's just a matter of convenience that you don't have to reload more often?

Thanks all. My main question would be did anyone have a bad experience while using 17 round (standard), or in the case of Ruger 10/22, the 25 rd mags at the range. I am not afraid to use them. But, it is California, and I have seen ignorant pig-headed RO's at different ranges.
