      The DROS paperwork has.
      Transaction date and time.
      Earliest deliver date and time.
      Latest deliver date and time.
So I would look at it.
Daylight savings time can play a roll?
      Also a Delay to Undetermined?

        Are they open on Saturdays?
Also, it would be 2:15pm on Saturday because of daylight savings (1hr ahead).

The only time I had to wait 11 days was when the pickup day was on a Sunday... And the shop was closed on Sunday.

Will they flat out refuse you if you show up on your DROS day?

It's a scam. if they can do the ammo background check in 5 minutes there's no reason why they can't do this background check in 5 minutes. I don't buy into the whole 10-minute cooling off period for suicide prevention

The whole 10-day thing I can almost (but not really) buy for the first gun. But after that, what exactly is the person cooling off from? Not using any previously purchased weapons in a rash or irrational manner?? Stupid law that does not accomplish anything except make the anti-gunners feel good.

I had that happen one time many years ago when I bought a levergun from Big 5. I talked to the manager about it and he said they did that to be sure there was no "screw up" and that they had some denials come from DOJ on the 11th day. He did decide to let me go ahead and take it after double checking the time on the paperwork.

Bass Pro used to have you come in on the 11th day as a matter of policy, the reason they told me was too may people would buy a gun in the afternoon for example and they come back and try to pick it up earlier in the day ten days later and raise a stink.

I don't agree with it, but I can kind of see their reasoning when you consider how some people are.

Most chain stores start your DROS the following day - to give them a buffer against violations. Back when they shut down Walmart selling guns, it was because of DROS violations from releasing guns too early.

This is a great question for the actual FFL....in question. You should ask, and let us know the "reasoning". I, personally, have never experienced this scenario. My FFL(s) has done the math correctly every time. This includes "chain" retail environments.

they make a policy that affects everyone just because of the few who don't understand what a 240 hour wait period is

i think Big 5 used to do an 11 day wait too - sigh

Some FFL's simply do 11 days to ensure they are in compliance with the law. It's overkill, of course, but some do it that way. If you had a problem with it, you should have voiced your displeasure when you bought them...or taken your business elsewhere. You can try talking to the FFL but I suspect it won't get you very far. If you're really upset about it you can politely let the FFL know that you will be taking your business elsewhere in the future because of this.

And I realize this is annoying but with all the ridiculous laws in this state, I'm not sure I can blame a gun store owner for being overly cautious.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

But, but,, that's too obvious of a solution! So I just decided to treat it as a solution to showing up for work with a major hangover everyday.
