Turner's Rancho Cucamonga

Just out of curiosity, was it Brian that you're referring to? I stopped shopping at Turner's for some time now, but he was an Asst. Manager back then. Almost threw blows with him but he backed down after being the one to run his mouth first. Carol C. was the actual store manager at the time. She was great though.

The guy IN the store might have been named Brian as well yes or that may have been the "women can't shoot" guy perhaps, "John" seems to ring a bell as one of the names. The DM Brian is a different guy that I used to see come get his coffee in Starbucks in the morning wearing a Turners polo so I brought it to his attention and got the same treatment from him as I got in the store. It was truly bizarre. This may have been all pre-Carol I don't know, hopefully things have improved there.Just out of curiosity, was it Brian that you're referring to? About a month ago I decided to give Victorville another chance because all I needed was a lousy rifle sock. I had not been in there in over three years so I go in there and I am waiting for 15 minutes and the line doesn't move while one employee was arguing with a customer on the phone about a return and the other one was screwing around with a box of clothes hangers. 15 minutes. Finally I just threw the item up on the counter and walked out.
The company is pure garbage. I am not a tire kicker, I spend thousands every year on firearms and firearms related equipment. They would rather jaw with some clown about internet rumors and espouse their make-believe knowledge on the unsuspecting and uninformed than sell a gun to a firearms enthusiast. That's fine, their business, it's just not for me. I'll agree with another member here that buying a gun or ammo at Bass Pro in RC is every bit as painful as Turners. These places are for casual shooters and entry level buyers, for us gun nuts there are just better options out there.Last edited by ACfixer; 02-26-2020, 7:41 AM.Buy made in USA whenever possible.Comment

Damn, I'm very sorry that happened. I guess I'll be a little more on guard if take a female along to this store. And sadly, that is not the first time I've heard that line being thrown at a woman. "You're just so petite so wouldn't be able to handle it."I've gone into detail with my dealings with Turner's before on the forum, not really wanting to hash through all that again but in short I brought some really poor customer service to the attention of the manager. My GF had inquired about a revolver and the guy laughed at her and told her "women can't shoot revolvers well." The manager straight out told me what I was telling him about his employee could not be true.
Here's the kicker, the DM (Brian) used to come in and get coffee at Starbucks and I brought it to his attention and he asked me "what branch?" I told him RC and he said "that can't be, I know that manager and he wouldn't do that..." So basically the district manager called me a liar as well.
You can read my reviews of each Turner's I have visited over the years, RC, Victorville, Berdoo, Reseda. Each one sucks equally except Victorville, they suck double. Look me up on the Google reviews, "L Hall".
You know what OP, they are expensive as well and are terrible in the red tape department. Seriously, in the RC area 2A Zone is great. Ammo Bros isn't great but way better than Turners. I've heard Bullet Barn in Upland is good, but I cannot attest to that as I have never been there. I'm just in the "anybody but Turners" camp and that's a shame.
If you just need to buy one gun, and Turners has what you want... and they were kind to you then just buy that gun, you're only doing it once and you don't know any better so nothing lost. I don't want to see them go out of business or anything, but for those of us experienced at firearms purchasing new and used there are WAY better options than that "take a number" hell.
There should be a Brother Card that one can pull in situations like these.
Agreed. It goes a long ways for me and turned me into a repeat customer at several local gun stores.
I took him to Bass Pro first. But that line made that trip really short lol!
I'm hardly ever in the IE area, but I am hoping to give 2A Zone a try soon.
Sounds like buying online would've been faster lol!
Thanks!
Here's to hoping that the seed was planted successfully and he takes the FSC test soon.

Good service or even half azzed intelligent customer service at Turners is a myth.
It is so bad that even the TURNERS'S Guy (who used to post here) stopped apologetic posts and promises of improvement.
Company must be run by stupid people (and clerks).
You can not fix Stupid.

Whoops, typo. I meant to say Mark L. That guy's a rat bastard. Their corporate is aware of him but they don't do anything about it.Last edited by drunktank; 02-26-2020, 12:43 PM.

They are aware of every gripe and problem they have, I've even spoke to their corporate because they contacted me wanting to know what the issues were I was facing. I appreciate that and I let them have it with both barrels and they seems receptive enough, but nothing has changed.
I am sorry OP, I didn't mean to turn your thread into a Turners hate fest. Like I said I am really glad you had a positive experience with them and I truly want no ill will for Turners, gun stores have a tough enough time in this wretched state without us bagging on them but my most recent trip there just tore off all the scabs from trips past. Customer service is simple and it's free, it's not easy, but it's simple and they really need to get a grip. They have a nice store, but the store is just a box and it takes gas and time to get there... if they want me at their door rather than clicking on the internet they need to make a lot more effort is the CS dept.
If you ever get a chance to visit Sportman's Warehouse, especially out of state, please do. THAT is how a corporate gun chain should be ran.Buy made in USA whenever possible.Comment

Such phony "machismo crap" is usually spouted by ignorant "Counter Monkeys". Not knowledgeable Gun Guys.Damn, I'm very sorry that happened. I guess I'll be a little more on guard if take a female along to this store.

My Missus is a hair over 5' and weighs about a buck. She was shooting pistols long before I met her 52 yrs ago. Her preference is revolvers, because that is what she was taught on as a kid by her Dad. And she handles both my 4" Md 19 and 41 mag Blackhawk like a pro with full house mag loads.
It doesn't take male muscles to shoot. It takes proper technique and practice.Comment

The reason Turners does not give good or need to give good customer service is because their bad customer service has had zero negative impact on their sales.Comment

i've bought several of their firearms, even my first AR15 - they do have some really good sales even with in demand firearms
the secret, as with ANY purchase, do your own research, stop depending on a sales associate to have in depth knowledge of every firearm they stock
my usual conversation with a sales person is "i'm here to buy the Beretta 92fs you have on sale right now" - that's the extend of my conversation - all i expect them to do after that is facilitate the sale
usually they ask me questionsOriginally posted by BarangI! hate! you! FalconLair.

Had good luck with Turner's in Modesto.Partisanship is cancer. Glory to the USA, glory to Ukraine, and I hope that someday Russia is free and the normal people have a voice.

All good. Now we all know to look out for this guy since two of you have mentioned issues with the same guy. They are aware of every gripe and problem they have, I've even spoke to their corporate because they contacted me wanting to know what the issues were I was facing. I've been to the Sportsman's Warehouse in Rancho Corodova and would love to have one down here in SoCal.
I completely agree. Same guys are found at the auto parts counter.Such phony "machismo crap" is usually spouted by ignorant "Counter Monkeys". Not knowledgeable Gun Guys.

Here's what makes my story worse: this was a guy who had brought along this girl to the gun range. He took a seat on a stool and shot away while yapping incessantly. Clearly loved the sound of his voice. When the woman in the next lane started shooting her revolver, the girl asked about it and that is when he loudly told her that line. And I don't think she shot for more than a few minutes.
That's been my experience as well. As a newbie, I didn't know any better and strictly went to Turner's. Eventually after trying other local shops and price shopping online, I came to realize how much I had been overpaying at times. Now as somewhat seasoned buyer, I keep an eye out for the deals.i've bought several of their firearms, even my first AR15 - they do have some really good sales even with in demand firearms

Carol still is the manager... Actually quite helpful... I believe the current assistant manager is Blue (sp?)...
That said, unless they're running a great special (which does happen from time to time) there prices are high...Comment
