    I use mine with hot water and some dishsoap, then immediately dry the parts and oil after then put the gun back together.

      Plus one on Dawn, and hot water. Just make sure you completely dry everything and lube before reassembling.

              I haven't had any trouble with the spoon full of vinegar, and dish soap in distilled water. But I might drop the vinegar not sure it's even doing anything. Usually just use it for slides.

                Vinegar will remove bluing on a firearm and its parts. It may not adversely affect other types of coatings.
