    Look around for a H&R 929. Well made and 9 shots SA/DA.
I've had one for 40+ years.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Is it really a MKI? They were adjustable sight target models. I still have my used (maybe once) Standard I bought from Art Scholl for $25 in the box with all the paperwork.

Pot metal 22s are still cheapest. Metal/plastic are next and all metal quality pieces are at the top. They all take the same amount of work as a larger caliber so you'd expect the price to be the same.

Quality gun will cost what it's worth regardless of caliber.

Never really thought of them being all that expensive before, lots of cheapies in the $300 to $400 range. You cant base the price of firearms on California prices, they are inflated from the norm.

The Ruger SR22 is right around $360, that’s a decent price for what you get. Plenty of Buckmark’s in the low to mid $400 range that’s fair for thier quality I think. The new Glock 22lr is what $380, your not getting a new in box 9mm for that unless is blue label.

The one firearm that really has no discount cost for being a 22lr is in revolvers, that’s because everything except the barrel size is really the same as any other caliber. A S&W 617 is no different then a 686 besides the size of the holes.

Love my 22's. I have quite a range from Saturday night specials, old H&R and Hi Standard revolvers to an SR22 and a P22 that actually works. If I just wanted an inexpensive shooter, I'd buy a Buckmark.

My local store recently had the base model Buckmark for 329. Seemed like a fair price to me. Especially when junk like the P22 is going for $300.

I picked up a nearly new Ruger Mark IV Target for $280 from a LGS. My Ruger Mark I Target I bought in '81 was $160, adjusted for inflation most new guns are high quality and inexpensive.

That's true in free states. My buddy in Houston just bought a mint Ruger MII target/bull in stainless for $275...Try doing that here

Rugr single six or single ten can’t cost all that much and is a good revolver.

I have a Single Six Convertible bought new this time last year. It was not inexpensive. It's well built and a tack driver.

The Ruger Wrangler is fairly inexpensive; a nice plinker for the price.
