I just got this PM concerning a WTB ad I placed for an A2 upper receiver:

Hello contact Gary in Kentucky he has A2 upper receiver for sale... garyhosmer.south@gmail.com

User annamontana has a join date of December 2019.

While trying to reply to this person, I got this error on the forum:
User annamontana has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

For fun, google that email address and look how many things come up about him being a scammer.

And that type of rule is very effective at stopping scammers because most scammers won't make the effort to make a bunch of junk posts to be able to access the classifieds.
They will just move on to the 1000's of other forums with no such rules.

Just got this private message from an obvious scammer in response to my WTB post:

- New account with a first_last_number@outlook.com email, pointing me to another first_last_number@outlook.com email.

- No info other than "Gary in Missouri", which isn't Googlable. It's not that hard to reference a real FFL or GB/GA account that I would be able to check.

- Visitors to Veron1's profile all have recent WTB posts. I'll bet that he contacted them with similar emails. Mudnut just confirmed this - thanks!

Let alone the fact that my post was very explicitly asking for a PPT transaction in Northern California.

Gary in Missouri is a busy guy.

35 minutes after I posted my WTB today, Veron sent me a PM telling me to contact Gray at a certain email address.

If I was Gary, I'd be upset with Veron. All Veron had to do, was give me Gary's cell number. But then again, Gary might be too busy with his vast inventory to take my call. I mean after all, Gary has a Remington 51 along with the older S&W I'm looking for in stock ready to ship!

You know maybe, I'll email Gary and asked him where can I send my cash to. I'll also include my social security number & CDL number with the cash along with my date of birth.

Can't wait to get my S&W.
