Real ID required for PPT or not?

Looking to doing a PPT soon and want to ensure ducks are in a row.

Anything changed since 1/1/20 re PPT requirements, or will it change in Oct or?

I have traditional valid CDL, not a realID, and not a"Fed Limits Apply" type, and a CCW.
I've done many PPTs (buyer and seller) in the last number of months as well as ammo purchases, but none in 2020.

Please cite if possible. Thanks guys, I know this subject has been beaten up a lot, but could not find anything conclusive.

I have exactly the same DL as you. Both as buyer and seller on PPTs and no issues in my area.

Some FFLs I have read here have reported making Real ID mandatory (I think it was Reeds and one other NorCal FFL), basically they are making their own law as I have not heard from CADOJ making Real ID mandatory. Maybe these FFLs just don't want to do PPTs.

Always call ahead to verify what their policies are.

My name on my CCW is out of order, the last gun store didn't want to do it. I had to get my old Firearm Safety Card and use that with a utility bill.
Also DROS is now $37 something. instead of 25.

Just did one last week with the old CDL - doesn't expire until December 2020. The key is to find a LGS that understands the law.

If the FFL knows you it's probably okay, but otherwise your probably going to need a Real ID.

So from what I can gather so far, nothing has changed, just need to confirm ffl will accept what they are supposed to be accepting

I read the notice from the doj at my ffl. You need real id or another form of id.
I had to bring my birth certificate.

What notice from DOJ says you need REAL ID for a seller?

Sorry I thought this was another 'seller needs REAL ID' thread.

Anyhow, there also is no DOJ memo that says REAL ID is required for the buyer. What it says is that FFLs should request more docs from people with FLA IDs.

Anyhow everyone please take a note: REAL ID IS NOT REQUIRED. AN OLD SCHOOL NON-FLA DL STILL WORKS JUST FINE.

With 'Federal Limits Apply' license you need a at minimum at Birth Certificate to match. This was the case for my PPT as a seller, and is stated as such in the DOJ rules.
