from what i've gathered these guys were parishioners, who, with the church's blessing, were also armed - i don't believe they were paid, volunteered their services, probably trained on their own too
i don't think it matters from a legal stand point - if you find yourself defending your life or the life of others you're within your rights, no matter where you are
the real issue is the civil repercussions - im sure if someone's family member could make a case they'd be suing you, the church, the parking valet, whomever they couldOriginally posted by BarangI! hate! you! FalconLair.

The 3 churches we attend have armed people.
Free Chapel in Ivine has uniformed armed security with side arms.
The Whittier church has an armed pastor who showed me his CCW and the parking lot has vehicles with Cal Guns license frames and NRA/ GOA logo's.
The Costa Mesa church has an armed sheriff deputy and I suspect other's could armed too , as everyone Ive talked with is a Trump supporter !
To guess at an answer to you're question. I would think if the church officers and Preacher know you are armed I would say no problem.
Naturally I will guess not on getting to and from church armed. This might be a problem in this state, that does not respect or acknkowdge self defense !Comment

Many churches use schools to hold services in, this complicates things here in California."I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain..."

I sold two smaller guns over a year ago....G42 (.380) and PPS M2 (9mm) and in talking to the buyer, discovered he was buying for the “church security team”.

As was once pointed out to me, there are potential legal problems if a church leases out a part of its facility to a school; likely it makes no difference if the "school" is actually in session that day, so the presence of citizens who are otherwise legally armed may be a no-no, depending on the actual law. I "think" retired/off-duty LE may be exempt, but I'll leave it to those who know more to comment further.
Yet another example of the state of California working to kill off those who practice religion, or those wishing to survive the actions of the very criminals the state welcomes with glee.Comment
