DROS Fee Going Up Starting January 1st, 2020

    Hi All,

I know it is not a deal (complete opposite, in fact), but I felt the word needs to be spread.

    Conversation and details in the FLL subforum: "DROS Fee Increase ($31.19 + $1 + $5 = $37.19 effective 01/01/2020)"

"...but I am still learning." - Jerry Miculek

"It is critical to understand this: Criminals don't fear guns. Criminals fear resolutely armed men or women they believe will actually shoot them." - Massad Ayoob

that's annoying, but not going to deter anyone from buying a gun. just hurts regular, middle class people trying to protect themselves or have a fun hobby. criminals don't DROS their guns lmao.

OP, thanks for posting this here! I don't hang on the FFL forum and had no idea this was happening. I just sent an email to the OAL objecting to the increase. Please, everyone, while you are digesting your Christmas dinner, follow the link in OP's message and send an email to the OAL. Don't let them get away with this while no one is watching!

So wrong like being charged to excercise your right to vote.

Just picked up a Glock at Rifle Gear. Free DROS on Glocks til 12/31. Added a lower on the DROS while it was free as well. Good way to beat the tax hike and then some.

I disagree. Lots of people will pause at paying almost $50 to PPT a $200 gun.

I agree. Someone should sue the state.

What sucks is that most places only accepts cash for the DROS fees when doing a PPT, so you now have to remember to bring a few extra bucks instead of the $35 cash that everyone has been used to for years.

I hate carrying loose coin change in my pocket, or getting coin change back (which I’ll just leave in the tip jar/tray).

Trying to decide if I want to go on shopping spree in Sunday, before the fee hikes. Was going to do a PPT with my girlfriend sometime in the next few months, and pick up a couple lowers...now or later?

Unless Trump or another GOPer is elected to appoint judges these laws will just keep coming to nickle and dime us.
