Burro Canyon Questions

On their website I didn't see their rules listed. Can I shoot Lake City, 30 06 there? It's my understanding LC 30 06 has a steel core and will attract a magnet. Does Burro Canyon allow the stuff?

Do they allow rapid fire?

I never had any problems there. Rapid fire, steelcore, its all good at the BC. Though there probably are rules against them, there seems to be a blind eye to petty infractions unless they become bigger problems.

They've never checked me. The kids that run BC are super cool.

Never seen it. Sometimes that place is the wild, wild west, i doubt they'd even notice. Ive seen fires there a bunch of times.

HA HA. I love the resident brass catcher. He lays down right next to me while im shooting prone and grabs the brass that i eject from my 700. BOOM! no flinch 2 ft to the side of the muzzle. He puts one or two in his bucket, then asks me if he can collect my casings.

Imma have to drag my 50 BMG down there and see if he can stand up to that ;-) Kinda creep'd me out having someone groveling around your feet while you're firing. A few times I swear he was on the ground forward of my muzzle. He won't get shot, but it's still not too bright. The one time I tried to talk to him the conversation suggested to me that he may not be all that well adjusted. He was talking about vendettas and his enemies being shot with bullets made from recycled brass and so on and so forth.

iono one time at San Gabriel valley, I kinda thought the same thing, but when I talked to one, seemed like he was just a kid who turned 18 and didn't know that you can't buy an AK out of state and bring it here. I don't know how a Nevada long gun purchase goes, but netherless from what he told me thats where he got it. I informed him it's illegal and to becareful, but he was pretty sure it was legal. Didn't really want to bother to start an argument so I left him to his fun, but I came out thinking that he could be a good guy who could potentially help out the gun community, but end up in jail wondering what the heck he did wrong and realize this cruddy state's gun laws.

I was there today, and believe it or not, right around the time i was leaving (~1:30) the range officer called out that they would be doing an ammo check for steel core ammo. So they do something after all. I sit there trying to shoot and some idiot asian kid with an undoubtedly illegal detachable mag AR with can opener, drink holder, mud flaps, etc. walks up to the table next to me while im shootng prone and unleashes a 20 or so round barrage of rapid fire BS Rambo style crap all over the range, im getting nailed with hot brass (they hit my rifle, my head, my back, my calf and burnt the heck out of me). He stops after that and turns to the guys 2 tables down and laughs, saying "oh, was that your target". Moron chopped the PVC legs out of their target. He packs up his crap and leaves. range officers just stare.

Another moron is letting his 5 year old 40 lb son shoot his SU-16 whatever. The kid rapid fires this thing all over the place just missing his own bench and spins half way around with the gun because of the recoil. range officers picking his nose.

Idiot SKS guy with high cap detachable mag shoots my target 4 times @ 200yds while trying to hit tiny pumpkins. Empties his mag in 0 seconds flat. range officer is zoned out.

That place sucks and is flat out dangerous.
