Maybe we could say something that we each know about him ...

like, I read somewhere that he thought the slide action/ pump action was superior to the lever action.

Of course he was talking about firearms made in his day ( both actions mostly designed by himself.)

...maybe hadn't owned a Rossi yet.

Nice! I understand he practically, if not completely, designed the first gas operation system.

Side note, I have an A5 in 16 guage that was made during his lifetime, 1913. I bought it really cheap as a "parts gun" because the seller said it was non-functional. LOL. It's chambered for 2.5" shells, not the later and more common 2.75" shells. Dang....that old humpback is 106 years old.

JMB modified a Winchester he designed to run full auto by rods and a plate at the muzzle which used muzzle blast to operate the lever action.

Only stopped when the ammo ran out.

Not to mention the lever actions that Winchester manufactured and sold in the late 1800s.

I remember John Moses more for his birthday of January 23...

That said, I am remiss in not posting yesterday here in this thread.

My three favorite designs, personally, of JMB are the Models 1892, 1911 and the M2.

JMB did so much for us. His Bday should be celebrated by all, a national holiday.

Hey Apples, is his birthday the same day as your wife's, I recall you mentioning her bday early this year before one of out Mojave trips

OP, any details on the red dot?
