I am in the Bay Area too. Do you drive or take the plane and get a rental?

I've drove from Bay Area on about half of my FS visits, not a big deal. Nice thing about driving is it opens up gear you bring as no airline constraints with case of ammo.

Btw, flying out of SFO with firearm is very easy to do. It only takes a little extra time and you need to follow a few rules.

Does anyone know how the points work? I read that they just changed the the way they work as far as purchasing thing from Front sight... what are you able to purchase with them?

Some things you can purchase. Pro shop was stocked somewhat last week. They lost a Glock back pack for $89. With points you pay some cash (probably their cost of the item) and some pints total cost of the backpack was $33.
Amazon shows the same thing for $56. So they work like cash but you are limited on where you can spend it.

On a side note it was mentioned it is cold in the winter. Wanted to double down on this. IT IS COLD IN THE WINTER.

I would think it would be a pain to fly, especially out of SFO, where the snowflake factor will be high. Remember you'll be checking guns. If it was equally easy to get to the airports, I would certainly rather go out of Oaktown or San Jose.

Either way, you have to fly into Vegas, rent a car, and drive over an hour to Pahrump. If you drive from the bay area you can take as much ammo as you want.

One last thing I will leave for entertainment while in Pahrump. Make sure you swing by Walmart. I swear all of the People of Walmart videos have been shot there!

If the best entertainment you can find in Pahrump is Walmart, you're doing it wrong.

It's only about an 8 or 9 hour drive to Vegas. I imagine it's about the same to Pahrump. Plan ahead so you don't go through Bakersfield in rush hour, and don't return at 10 am on Sunday or you'll follow half of L.A. at 12 mph until you get halfway to Barstow.

The easiest time to go is to leave at 10 pm or so, in order to not see 500 miles of ugly on the way.

Driving from SF to Parumph puts you on single lane road for miles without seeing another person. I kept thinking I was driving out into desert and going the wrong way, GPS was right. Death Valley Road is desolate with huge sand dunes and open flats, desert on both sides of roadway. I would hate to see that road at night or on a really windy day.

Definitely not worth driving to Vegas and then across to Parumph. I pulled my camper out only time driving straight to Parumph, maybe only driving truck would make it feel less squirrely. Truck was getting blown all over the road and had to drop speed to below limit

No need to drive to Vegas first, there's an exit to Pahrump from I-15 before you get to Vegas.

I have driven that road from Vegas at night, but it didn't scare me because I turned my headlights on.

Wife and I are long time members, we've take almost 80 courses each. Even today, my wife looks forward to going. We have learned a lot. Her favorite is the 4th of July timeframe and night courses. We usually spend 2-3 weeks there ate the time and take about 4-5 classes back to back, or the best you can work it.

We take private classes now and then, but we like regular classes because we get to meet other people during the classes, and catch up with other friends we met there who live across th US. Plus we are friends with some of the instructors too.
