    RAW receivers

If, for some reason my bullet button RAW were to have a receiver issue, what happens then? The firearm has a lifetime warranty on it. But if they were not able to fix the receiver then am I out of luck? I wonder if they would make me a new receiver with the same serial number? Has anybody ever had this issue?

Hosed.. similar issue occurs for people with handguns no longer on the roster. Frame replacement with new SN means off roster transfer and a no-go for non-exempt folks.

Allegedly some companies will destroy the old lower and re-issue a new lower with the old serial number, not a personal experience only read that on the internet.

Death by attrition, that is their plan.

And this is why my RAW sits in my safe and I never use it. Terrified of this happening. I registered my cheapest and most basic AR as the RAW. Because of the fear that someday the list would be used for confiscation.

Perhaps an email to the manufacturer would shed some light?

Buy a $29 Anderson lower and build a featureless lower to replace it?

                  My first thought.

You're not losing much by doing so, and I see it as a plus to lose the mistake of registration in the first place.

I just don't see so much advantage to a registered bullet-button adorned rifle that going featureless is not an equal alternative. Actually, with featureless I can at least use "standard" capacity magazines which is a greater benefit, and no fiddling with a magazine release to do it.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

You can only hope that you purchased high-quality firearms and that you take care of them.

I have a whole bunch of really high quality ones. They are brand new, in the box never fired. I'm a hoarder. And by the way I do not own any off roster handguns. I would never pay the premium.

I had a handgun replaced under warranty with same serial number. Believe this is solely at manufacturer's discretion. Contact the maker.

                            Nothing wrong with hoarding/collecting.

But if you get the itch, shoot it. Nothing wrong with that either.

I'm not talking about "new" off roster handguns.. For example, say you bought the Ruger SR22 when it was on the roster...now it isn't...it's an off roster handgun.

Rock Island Tactical, was on roster, no more
Rock Island Mapp FS, was on roster, no more
and the list goes on and on..

most of your semi autos will soon be "off roster" as the roster dwindles..
