    Antique and Curio&Relic transfer

    Hello...

Some of the guns I am inheriting from out of state are old, apparently from the serial numbers some are 100 Plus years old, and thus qualify as antiques, correct? If antique, is it true no ffl is required, they can be brought into California with no paperwork nor registration, correct?

Another pistol appears to be a 1969 build date, ie fifty years old, thus it still needs an ffl transfer, but is not required to be on the hand gun roaster, is that correct?

    Thanks in advance!

Antique status refers to firearms made before 1898 while curio and relic tracks guns both on a list as well as being over 50 years old.

When you are done with toys, get a Glock.

Much more needs to be known.

      Was there a will?

Are you named as the heir?

Is the deceased a grandparent, parent or child?

Have all of the proceedings in the other state been finalized?

And lastly, sorry for your lost.

      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Yes, I am named in will, but I am not immediate family, also the firearms were not willed to specific heirs, we instead divided them up between the heirs. The proceedings are wrapping up, the executor wants to start sending the items out soon, we want it all done legally.

If 50 years plus, they dont need to be on the Calif Hand gun Roaster, correct? none evidently meet the Antique requirement, (all newer than 1898) but do meet the C&R requirement.

Yes. C&R (>50 years old) are exempt from the roster.
