Stoeger Coach Gun with double trigger or Taurus M65 from your list.

Other suggestion would be would be Stoeger shotgun and Heritage Rough Rider for a less precious plinking 22, but that would be about $499 for both.

Kick in a few extra bucks for a levergun. IMO, 357 is the best all around cartridge..

That’s too far over my budget for this exercise, but there are other levers for under $400.

If I start going over, I know where this will end: “hey, $400 is more than half of a S&W 629-5 so why not?”

            Eventually, but not this time.

If you don't have a levergun, it might be better if you stayed away from them. If you buy one, you'll buy another one, then another, then revolvers to match. .

You should be able to get a Henry 22 cal for less than $400.00 out the door. They're so fun to shoot and well made.

Thing about ordering online is, you have to pay FFL transfer fee, which runs $50-75.

I'd kick in a bit more get a 357/38 lever gun. I like the short barrel to shoot offhand.

If you actually shoot .22 a lot, get the Buckmark. I was about to buy one, but then I realized I hadn't shot my Ruger (made before the Marks), since sometime in the '80's.

Nah, I don't need one so bad.

PC Carbine in 9mm in Jail right now... to match w/the mags I had the forethought to buy during Freedom Week.
                            It's be good for a down-payment.

From you list, i'm my opinion the least attractive is the Stoeger SxS in 20” or 26” versions - and I own one. Bought it would seems like a 100 years ago, and I have never fired it.

I would second the Ruger PCC, I love mine.
