Yes, and as they are very different magazine systems we can see why having an M1 clip loading machine wasn't suggested for each firing position. When the supply of loaded enblocs is expended, life does truly suck for the M1 rifleman in battle.

A Mk.2 mod 1 rifle with an endless supply of loaded enbloc clips is a very good answer to the be-all-and-do-all solution that the M14 actually wasn't in the end.

Doesn't cause any loss of love for my M14 type rifles anyway.

The well worn metal butt plate on my M1 garand slides up and down on my shooting coat during rapid fire affecting accuracy a bit. The texture on the M1A thingy that goes up digs in good to the shoulder and allowed me to shoot 10x10 in rapid prone at 300 yds a few times.

            The Garand, because:

So why does an M-1 Garand cost so much?

            Satisfaction!

It satisfies the eyes. It looks warm, robust, serious, and capable. It looks like victory, freedom and liberation. It looks friendly. It does not look evil. It does not look delicate. It does not look cheap.

It satisfies the ears. The clocklike schnick when you pull the bolt back. The warning click as you shove home another 8 round clip. The massive, solid slam as the bolt rams another round into the chamber. The deep throated bark of the muzzle as you fire away. The final Ka-Ting as the empty clip is ejected. The horrifying scream of agony as the guy four benches down learns never to hesitate when removing his thumb from a freshly loaded clip.

It satisfies the touch. The warm sculpted wood. The curve of the stock. The curl of the bolt lug. The take-up of the trigger. The robust, solid, yet unsharp push of the kick.

It satisfies the soul. It is the defender of liberty. It is the champion of victory. It is the guarantor of freedom. It will not be used to rob banks. No terrorist will unleash it on a crowd of unarmed victims. No gangster will use it to shoot little girls while missing his imagined gangster enemies. It is the good guy's weapon. It is just the ticket to liberate a country. It opens the doors of concentration camps. It saves people from tyranny. It topples dictators. It squashes fascists. It pushes communists behind their walls. It defends the homeland. It provides for the common defense. It is necessary for the security of a free state. It brings joy to women and children as they fire it. It strikes fear in the hearts of those that oppose freedom. It makes friends at the shooting range. It reminds us of the cost of freedom. Its lavish expense is appropriately justified.

It is your duty as an American to own one. Get one now. Buy ammo. Use it. Never mind the price, find the best one you can. You have no excuse. Production lines are starting back up. The time is now.

            Be careful with your thumb.

I am actually a bit surprised that some people are not familiar enough with how easy it is to top-off an M1 Garand.

In this short video see how this young man is easily topping it off. You can also do it the same way and not have to hold the butt against your hips. You can just hold the bolt open with the same hand you hold onto the rifle with. Unless I guess if you have small little girl like weak hands.

Takes just a couple seconds. No fuss, easy peasy.

He’s standing up to do it! He’s got it lodged into his hip and it took an eternity.

if taking fire keep shooting until you are empty. who would try to top off any rifle while being shot at? topping off a rifle is done in a lull in fighting

The guy with only 8 rounds in his rifle as opposed to 20?

Obviously you're ignoring what I wrote.

Face it You said the M1 Garand could not be topped off. It was pointed out to you that, that is not correct. Then you tried to pretend you didn't have egg on your face by moving the goal post about how it can't be done easily. Well, you are wrong again.

Like I said in the above post. It can in just a couple seconds be topped off just like in the video and without holding the butt against your hips. Like I said. You can hold the rifle and the bolt open in one hand while dropping in more rounds with the other hand. Easy peasy. And you don't have to be standing.

You're just not familiar with the M1 Garand and misspoke but don't want it to appear as such.

No, we just learned that the military didnt need to top off the rifle.

I don’t have a problem being corrected, but that still doesn’t negate the fact that your “correction” to my perceived problem of topping off the M1 still sucks and is so impractical that it might as well not exist.
It may be impractical but it can be done and there is more than one way to do it.

I bet 8 loose rounds can be loaded into an empty M1 Garand clip faster than you can load five loose rounds into an M14 stripper clip or five loose rounds into an M14 magazine.

With the clip out of the Garand perhaps but not monkeying around like the gentlemen in the videos.
