HELP! DOJ requesting pictures when registering firearms

Thank you everyone for your perspective. Really appreciate it, including the humor. Well, maybe not the guy who wanted my house. :-P Just trying to be a compliant gun owner who does not want to give up privacy rights to practice our 2A rights. Moving to CA, I cried and even slammed my head into the wall a few times when learning these new gun rules. Even though the laws are silly, hopefully, they will change for the better... did I just make everyone laugh?

No sir, you just made us all cry with you. These laws suck and will not save one life. They will due more harm. People who do not follow laws are counting their targets.

UM, quick question. If he legally owns these firearms, and they are NOT AW (made featureless, etc), then WHY DOES HE NEED TO REGISTER THEM?

I thought the whole registration with DOJ thing was for legally owned ON-roster firearms/NFA that are owned by someone moving to CA; not any/all firearms.

Update: After sending a certified mail requesting official PC and/or regulation, 2 weeks later, I received the approvals. Two copies of them. .

AWESOME!! DOJ tried to pull a fast one thinking you would slip. It's great that you did your due diligent (as any responsible gun owner should) before coming over.
When it comes to the whole 2A issue here in CA, DOJ usually wins with their house rules so its nice you came out on top... regardless how small and insignificant it is.

Hope you have better luck than I have so far. They keep on saying I haven't done the sme thing over and over again after I have. There was a small check box on one of the forms that I forgot to check and instead of their system saying "hey you need to acknowledge this" it lets is go through. So now 8 month later or so I am still waiting on my one registration to go through.
