I had to go show my mom as soon as I cleaned it up a bit. I showed her my "new" gun and asked her what she thought about it. At first she rolled her eyes, then stopped and stared at it. After a few moments she got very emotional and said "that's my dad's shotgun!" and shed a few tears.. She was only 13 when he passed away, and she hadn't seen this gun since then. She remembered it because he would always hang it on the living room wall after returning from a hunt. She remembers being a little girl helping my grandmother pluck and clean the quail he brought home almost every weekend. He was a leather shoe maker in Armenia and during that time the 'republic' was under USSR communist rule. He was always full of life and the center of attention everywhere he went. This shotgun was his life and helped him put food on the table for the family. She says he would be so happy and proud that it's in good hands with me now.

Appreciate it, SkyHawk. Some information there but overall there seems to be very little info out there about these shotguns. Would be interesting to get a rough estimate of how many of these were built. I'm planning to break it apart soon to see what other markings I could find.See this page which will give you more info
