Awesome! If it were me, I'd keep copies of all the pix of your grandfather with the gun in the safe with the gun along with a printed history of the gun. That way it's all preserved in one spot for the next generation.

Your post reminded me of my grandfather's 1910 era LC Smith side by side that my father who is turning 90 next month gave me a couple years ago. It was his primary bird gun 60 years ago and the very first firearm that I ever shot.
Prior to giving it to me he had all the mechanical overhauled. This last summer my youngest son used it to win the clay competition at our family reunion that included no fewer than a half dozen avid bird hunters and a Front Sight instructor. My father was beside himself to see it being used so effectively when it was up against a number of Winchesters and Benellis.

Don't over clean it, the patina is a reflection of the age use of the gun.
