          A couple of fatal mistakes... The son was in charge, the father ran in front of his son direct line of fire... Father needed to allow his son to command! Father could have been a victim of friendly fire..

              I've heard of people partially filling mags to keep the max pressure off of the spring so it doesn't wear out.

                    I was explained that partial loading is for more reliable loading into the mag well. AKs have a locking mechanism that is activated by pivoting. ARs go in and out smoothly but can drop out if not pushed in hard or positively.
