Why are there so many sale threads selling new Glocks that have been won in contests?

I've won 4 19's at NRA dinners this year. Keeping 2, selling 2.

The Gen 3 are so ubiquitous and not that exciting for people that own multiple Glocks.
I bet a lot of the people selling them would keep it if it was a Gen 5.

Glocks are often won in Glock club shooting competitions. The guys who keep winning Glock shooting competitions probably have enough Glocks, so they sell the prizes.

            No mystery really.

I would sell it too if I won. I already have 3 - all the Glocks I want.

i do not own any Glocks but it seems that Glock may be a victim of it's own sales marketing because it seems they have too many models out on sale and are on burnout. People might not want to try and keep up with the minor changes that causes Glock to announce a new model. Usually when a company gives away a lot of product it is for write off purposes. It probably has nothing to do with quality or reliability. Maybe be a very good gun with bad marketing.

Every first time buyer is hesitant so they buy a Glock because everyone recommended it, but after some range time they buy other better brands.

That's funny. Our LE Entry Team CHOOSES Glocks when they have the option to carry Sigs, 1911's, etc.

Its also not a cost thing. Our Dept buys our weapons.

How has no one mentioned Glock Shooting Sports Foundation.

Glock gave away 24 pistol prizes at a single match in Azusa, CA the last time it was held there.

Each year there are two matches in Azusa, one in Richmond, CA, and one in Yolo CA,

So those alone are pushing 100 pistol wins in California given by Glock themselves.

The next scheduled one in CA is in Azusa again Nov. 16/17
Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.

Your department would buy your 1911, or any other approved non Glock pistol?
