I'm surprized they haven't used Prop 65 to ban gun finishes, any plastic part, lubricants, solvents, any and all lead, etc.

Yes, The powers to be in CA actually believe all of us in middle America are sick and dying from cancer because we don't have a Prop 65 and still can buy real mineral spirits and use regular gas cans, buy Magpul stocks, etc.

Fortunately, California politicians are generally stupid and completely ignorant about the industries and items that they try to regulate. We can still get these contraband items, but have to work a little harder and maybe spend a little more to do it.

            This is California, you know...

WARNING: Drilling, sawing, sanding or machining wood products can expose you to wood dust, a substance known to the State of California to cause cancer. Avoid inhaling wood dust or use a dust mask or other safeguards for personal protection. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov/wood.

Producers and distributors may comply with Prop 65 either by affixing a label to the product bearing the required warning, or by providing a written notice directly to a retail seller. For lumber and other wood products, posting of warning signs meeting the specifications of the regulation, is the only one safe-harbor warning method for wood dust exposures.
With over 1,000 compounds on the list, it is pretty safe to say that virtually everything you buy or come into contact with has a listed compound and/or the potential for residue. For example, my kayak causes cancer, as does the roasted coffee that I drink, even though the concentrations are below and exposure level that would cause any adverse health effect.

visit bass pro in las vegas and bring it back?

or if that doesn't work, i'm sure there are some websites that will still sell it to you in CA, and ignore that stupid prop 65 nonsense.

Just slap a Prop 65 sticker on it. Everything else has one, including a new Les Paul guitar. I never knew guitars caused cancer.

I wonder how long you have to sit in a kayak before you get cancer.

A lot of items do not have prop 65 labeling. Hence taking a drive out of state and leaving my tax dollars there.

I wouldn't know but I'll wager a guess that Mary Jane in CA doesn't come with a Prop 65 sticker on it...

I work in supermarket produce departments as a vendor. A few weeks ago a lady walls up to young produce clerk with a potted bamboo plant I was talking to. She asked him if the plant was going to give her cancer or if the one she has at home will give her cancer because she read the Prop 65 label on the pot. The kid had know idea what to say.

I told her about Prop 65 and speculated that the label was there because of the chemicals used to manufacture the pot or possibly due to a fertilizer added to the soil.

Pretty sure the packaging marijuana comes in has all sorts or warning labels on it

If it's as easy as slapping a sticker on a product, why hasn't Ruger slapped these stickers on many of their products that suddenly became restricted to California?
