    Magpul D60...

I got a D60 during freedom week and didn't have a chance to break it out until this last weekend. I bought it on a whim knowing I might not get a chance to get something like that until I move out of the state after retirement.

I love the compact design and it seems well engineered. I found it to be a real pain to load. I'm not sure what I expected cause I have never owned a drum before. Any other owners have thoughts about it?

I've found that loading isn't that bad. Unloading is a miserable endeavor. The first time I tried to unload it I some how flipped a round backwards jamming everything I had to disassemble the unit just to free up the rounds.

Reliability had been great no hangups firing but, in my opinion the easiest way to unload the mag is to just shoot it.

Loading is a pain but after a few times you get the hang of it. Unloading is slightly less painful.

Functionally it works flawlessly and I don't really notice the extra weight. Workmanship is great, typical of the Magpul products I own.

Using a striplula has been pretty easy on the fingers once you get used to it. There are also videos on how to unload with the striplula as well. Not my video.

Pull that out in public and you may have it confiscated.

Why would you load one if you are just gonna end up unloading it by hand? If you wanna unload it, shoot it. Also, Magpul says they designed it to be able to be left loaded for a long time.

That’s why I like the regular old 40 round mags for a fraction of the price. The drum does look sweet though.

Well, I'm gonna find out Friday with my Tavor SAR at the local range.

                    Why would you unload it?

I like the D60. There's nothing practical about it, but it makes mag dumps even more fun. If I ever move to another state, I'll be sure to get an echo trigger (if they aren't banned by then like bump stocks) for even more fun.

Are echo triggers illegal in Commiefornia?

I loaded mine once but ended up forgetting to take it when I went shooting. But yeah it's a pain to load at first, but you get it down after a little while. Haven't shot my D60s yet so I can't speak to that one.

How is it a pain to load? I found it extremely easy to load mine.

What's the weight fully loaded? Seems like a 'drag' to me.

No worse then 2 30’s coupled, but more compact.
