patience is your friend. had seen couple of them that i really like in the past where i waited less than half day & less than a day ...... gone when i was ready to buy them. lesson learned.

I've used Gunbroker for only pistols (which need to be on roster). Sometimes deals can be found however the struggle is some FFLs refuse to send to CA. I've bought a few pistols here on Calguns, FTF transactions are nice - just be prepared to open your wallet to pay that CA premium on off roster stuff.

I assume the contributors marketplace is smaller than the available to everyone? Doesn't that make it harder to sell your guns?

If you’re the right buyer, the market place works well and you save a fair amount. It’s not about finding a new in box gun for well below MSRP. Rather, if you’re in the market for something specific and are okay with it having some use, you can buy it for 10-20% off and avoid tax. It’s not a huge saving, but it’s like paying 485 for a used Glock 19 rather than 600 out the door for a new one. Some people don’t want to buy used because they care about cosmetic blemishes or are concerned about wear, but most guns in the marketplace seem to have less than five hundred rounds through them. If you bring a gun in from online you pay a ton in fees.

It is smaller than the regular marketplace.

Not sure if it's more difficult...I have a far easier time buying and selling on arfcom. Arf has 10X the viewers here.

There are good deals here often. Problem is when we see them we buy them, we aren't likely to tell you about them.

I've gotten a lot of great deals on here. Got to be quick on the button. Once you get into contact with the seller...... don't be a flake! No "let me check with my wife", or "can you wait 3 weeks till I get paid?". Be ready to meet that day or the next, but at the seller's discretion. When you meet, don't be a tire kicker, be polite, on time, and have all your paperwork ready. I've met a lot of great Calgunners through the marketplace, people that if we'd met under different circumstances, we'd probably be good friends. I've only met a couple D-bags...... don't be one.
