    Good deals found here?

    Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and admittedly, I joined so I can look for deals on the marketplace. I heard there were some good deals here. But, so far, I only see the same prices that I see at Costa Mesa gun show. What has been your experience?
    Thank you.

I have had several good deals, but it takes time and patience searching.
You have to be ready to say "I'll take it" or it will be gone quickly.

Most deals go from reasonable to WTF.

I'm sure it varies. I've purchased twice, 1st was a good to average deal, 2nd was a smoking great deal. Just have to be quick and pull the trigger, so to speak.

Scammers on Armslist. Gunbroker only good for rifles, can’t buy off roster pistols off gunbroker. Calguns is where it’s at basically lol.

In general, this is a community. If you joined for steals- it’s the wrong place

Many reports here of scammers on Armslist as stated above.

I buy FTF here, very low risk and never had a problem.

Yeah, Armslist has a lot of trash, dpshsts, stupid pricing, and trolls,....kind of like some on CGN but not so bad here, but I still bought/sold to some good people on Armslist.

How do you get scammed on Arms list? You still have to go to the FFL for the transfer.

                    Examples:
Two times now after confirming all details/times/place, I drove just under 1 hr to FFl and seller flaked when I texted him I was there...sorry bro....

Guy does not reply for over a week on a a posting I inquired about twice.

Guy says he'll sell me what I'm looking for but for $1k, when I'm WTB for $500

                    Etc.

The good on Armslist? Just a couple weeks ago purchased 2 guns (1 off roster) from same seller at great prices, guy was a good guy too, no bs.

Thanks for your experiences. But I noticed that you didn't lose any money? That doesn't sound like a scam to me.
                      Flaking is commonplace now.

I do believe there are a % on armslist who are just antis, and get off wasting pro gun people's time. I'm not super wealthy but doing ok, and live outside of the city. Time is money in my world, so 2 hrs of non productive time dealing with a loser equates to a significant loss for me.

Flaking is absolutely not commonplace here, and you will find that there are very few face to face deals to be had on Armslist. Most of them involve a promise of shipping, deposit requests etc where you will never see a gun or your money again. And unless your time and attention is free, then driving an hour is absolutely losing money to say nothing of making arrangements for a purchase that was never real to begin with. I never have shopped Armslist and never will.

If you have cash in hand and know what you want and are willing to travel a bit, and check the marketplaces frequently here, you can find deals. But just know right up front there are more buyers than deals. You need to be quick, convincing and hyper-responsive with your communications to the seller, doubly so if you are a new user with no feedback.

And if you want something hard to get especially off roster handguns, just accept that you will have to pay more than you would in a free state. Our laws create this condition, and unless you leave the state (for good) there is no getting around it.

The biggest problem is communication (no one calls and talks anymore, it's texting or B/S posting I will take it or I am very interested and nothing. People can take the time to text cause there not serious, and there self amused with themselves and wasting your time, as for some they probably don't have the money anyway. If your serious you will talk it out on the Phone.
