There is no restriction on SHIPPING of off-roster handguns.

It's only a problem for a non-exempt buyer to DROS an off roster handgun outside of a PPT.

Then the buyer does the DROS at his local FFL just the same as if he had purchased it from out of state.
And the money gets exchanged beforehand?

Most people expect payment before shipping.

You need to better explain your specific situation to get a good answer.
If this is about the M&P 9mm shield you recently sold, then you need to talk to your buyer and see if he is roster exempt.
If he is NOT roster exempt, you need to meet him at an FFL to do a PPT.
How bad he wants the gun and how bad you want to sell the gun will likely determine how far each of you is willing to drive/fly to meet.

Even though you CAN accept his payment and you CAN ship it to his FFL of choice, he will NOT be able to DROS it if he is not roster exempt.
If he can't DROS it, you can expect him to be upset about that.
You now would end up with a situation where you yourself would not be able to get the gun back unless YOU are roster exempt nor can the FFL who is holding it on behalf of the buyer offer to sell it to anyone else other than a roster exempt person.

Shield was sold face to face. I figured my question and info provided was enough. However everything I've said has been a repeat of the same thing. So maybe it took a few times to be understood?

No, trying to get you to post all relevant information, which you never did, was was as painful as pulling teeth.

Agree. If it was sold face to face, why the shipping? You gonna ship it to a guy standing 3 feet away from you?

If it was sold face to face, why the question about payment? He couldn't hand you the money when he was standing 3 feet away?

Or is it NOT face to face?
