    never red.

I'm confused by this. Why purple if you shoot a lot?

Blue is stronger than purple. You want blue.

I would only recommend purple if you plan on disassembling often.

Hey!.....I have to find something to use it for from time to time other than extracting splinters.

Thanks all for the recommendations. Blue it is.

Of course, a few of you just had to throw a monkey wrench into the works and suggest purple. Now I have to go to the Lactate site and check it out.

          Blue should be fine.

For Dawson Precision suppressor sights I used the recommended 262/Red (I tried blue first and the front sight came loose.)

Blue is even too strong. I wish there was something a bit less.

Did you read the posts above? There is, it's called purple.

XS included a red tube with my sights. I dunno if it's Loc-tite specifically but based on these posts, it's a good thing I like them

                        LOL.

                        I mostly use red.
The blue wrench takes it off with no trouble whatsoever and it holds WAY better than purple which is weaker than blue.

When in doubt just mix it together.

If the part will be conducting heat I use red. Ironically, as mentioned above, applying heat with a soldering iron is usually all that's need to remove red locktited small screws.

On everything else I use blue, mostly on places like grip screws and optics mounts. Heat is rarely, if ever, necessary to break blue free, just even deliberate pressure with a properly fitting tool. I switched to the paste version a couple of years ago; easier, cleaner, and less wasteful.

Other than the "drink", I've never tried the purple stuff.

Blue if applied as the sight goes on. After dry assembly, purple wicking loctite might work.

                                Do not use red.

                                Blue is good to go.
