I guess I don't think like a 'task force guy'.

My last 5 years before retirement were on a task force. I'd start my day in Concord and many times end it in Crescent City.

I work in LA County. As a detective, I have made arrests in San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Berdoo, Imperial, and Kern Counties. Not part of a task force. You go where the case leads you. Not unusual at all.

I wonder about that suppressor. I wonder if it is fake. A lot of times builds with an under 16" barrel have fake suppressors permanently attached to avoid SBR status. If that is not what we are looking at, then that rifle that has the suppressor on it is also a SBR.

Under Federal and CA laws/regulations...

37mm launcher with any type of lethal (explosive, incendiary, etc) rounds = Destructive Device.

37mm launcher any less lethal (bean bag, rubber/foam/wood baton, rubber/foam ball, rubber/foam shot, etc) rounds = Destructive Device.

37mm launcher with only signal (flare, smoke, chalk) rounds = legal emergency distress signaling device.

Under CA laws/regulations...

37mm launcher with any chemical (tear, pepper, etc) rounds = Destructive Device

Without seeing the rounds, I wonder if he had flares and they are calling them incendiary. I don't trust them to really know the difference. True incendiary rounds are actually pretty difficult to get your hands on unless you are reloading them yourself.

Lesson to be learned here is tips come from snitches who most of the time are your friends, family, and neighbors out in public on other, usually, dope charges as long as they provide tips to law enforcement. Be aware of who you talk in front of in this state. People know enough to stay away from identified criminals but not the ones that practice being a Judas. His loose mouth led him to where he is today.

I warn people all the time about statements they make here on the forum. This is why even though all of my stuff is legal, very few people know what I actually have. I have RAW's and featureless/fixed mag black rifles which to some people look like "machine guns". The last thing I want is for someone to get pissed at me and give a "tip" that generates a search. While I am pretty confident that I do not have anything that they could make stick, I do not what to have to spend money to prove what I have is legal not to mention all the other headache that comes with that.

Supposedly there has been a issue with these Glock fullauto switches in Sf bay area . Or at least it made a couple of News stories in the last month or so .

Why people would buy these is beyond me. There have been places that have sold these online along with "solvent traps" with pilot holes to drill them out to be suppressors and other 80% type NFA items. A lot of these places have gotten close scrutiny from BATFE and DOJ and have resulted in investigations and arrests. If you are going to buy something like this (I am not advocating it) do it in person with cash from a trusted source and even then you have risk.
