Ammo minimums

With just a little over a week left before July 1st, I finally made my last ammo purchase today to reach my minimums. I've been stocking up over the last couple of years but with the impending law, have tried to get my "reserve" complete.

I know everyone is different by my rule of thumb is 1,000 rounds per firearm, not caliber. Needless to say, I'm happy with finally getting it done.

that is a good start. I reload so I stock up on components as well as some factory ammo and new brass. I use new brass for my hunting loads.
Best to buy before all the new BS and higher cost. Ammo/components will keep for a long time and prices will get higher.

I found 8 lbs of Varget and felt like I won the lottery. 8 lbs of 4350 too, that will feed most of my big cases for a bit, especially considering the low round count for most of them.

1000 rds is the minimum for ITSHTF situations, just enough to get by for a short time

for long term stocking up, you need to plan years ahead , kind of like saving for retirement

1000 rds is just enough for survival mode

most of my shooting is shotgun clays events, for which I reload and am well stocked on supplies, pistol and rifle ammo is well stocked for the amount of shooting I do.
