    Carded when buying primers

Went into Sportsmans earlier this evening to buy some primers and was basically carded. Check stand girl asks for my age. I ask why? Girl tells me state law requires proof of age. She was prompted on her screen, when she scanned the barcode on the primer boxes.
    Anyone else experience this?

Are we talking about Marlboro Red Box Primers or softback?

Maybe she was just trying to figure out if you were legal to hit on?

I’m sure their is an age for all reloading stuff in this nanny state
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
            (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Same thing happened to me in HD while purchasing a can of spray paint. I said to the very young girl "are you kidding me?" She said, "no , if I don't I'll loose my job" So even though I passed 18 decades ago I showed her my ID. Walmart always asks for my bd. Been tempted to say "1900"

I've had similar happen when buying bullets from sportsman's. Lady at the register asked for id after scanning the box and looking at the screen, realized it wasn't ammo, and said nevermind that would be pointless since it's not ammo. My guess is they have their reloading components under the same category as ammo in their point of sale system and it just flags everything.

Do not let them (or anyone) scan your drivers license. They can read the birth date off the front with their eyes.

The scannable codes on the card have your address and other info.

Only a matter of time till they make us do background checks on reloading components.
