Yard sale finds!

I hit a couple of yard sales last weekend looking for a decent used chainsaw. Didn't find one but, while looking, I asked "any hunting or fishing stuff for sale?"

One lady got her husband and he brought out an Ithaca model 37 in good shape and a Belgium made Browning A-5 that looked nearly new. He asked for $350 for both, I got them for $320. The A-5 was made in 1951 and works flawlessly. The 37 has a 20" barrel and kicks like you were hit by a car. I already have several A-5s and one other model 37 but I couldn't help it.

I also bought a .22 revolver from one of the guys on a local VFD.

Yes, I'm in free America. In Texas.

i remember many years ago my folks went to a garage sale in grants pass oregon and ended up with 2 nib savage over unders, one was a 410/22 and the other was 22mag and 20 gauge. both still in grease and wax paper taken apart in the card board boxes they came in. i still have them both today.

Nice finds! Presumably they were both C&R, so a FFL-free purchase could also be made in CA with 03+COE. I’d love to find a clean, older A5 like that. Now I just have to start hitting up some yard sales

You got a bargain on the shotguns. Out of curiosity can you remember what type of 22 revolver you bought?

You know, the brand name, model, conditions and price.

It always boggles the mind with the price differences between California and free America, not to mention the ease of purchasing used person-to-person items.
