I have my venom on my xdm osp i have yet to find sights that co witness with the venom. But i know that my holosun cowitness with surpressor sights. It uses the same foot print as the rmr.

How is the holosun? I have a holosun for my AR and i like it. I was wondering how you like it on your pistol compared to the venom?

I like it. Its solar powered auto function w/ sleep mode, top battery tray, and has 3 differant reticles. Not as rugged as the rmr thats for sure but it does whats it needs to do. Ive got about 1k rds down range now and it still works and holds zero. Im actually buying another one but this time I'm going with the 407 its about $80 cheaper because it only has the single dot and no circle. The 407 will be going on my g19 carry rig. I would recommend it specially for the first time to see if you like red dots. If you do like them it has the same foot print as the rmr and you can replace it with the rmr with no changes to you slide. Lifetime warranty as well hope this helps.

I have a RMR 06 on my CORE. Love it. I'm a fan of the smaller MOA dot. It's more precise at distance given that the smaller dot doesn't cover up as much of the target and I personally don't find it any harder to pickup than a larger dot.

I would strongly suggest you try to look at a few different red dots with different size dots to see what you like better. There are plenty of red dots around and most shooters are pretty good about letting you check stuff out. It will also be good for you to see how it looks with your astigmatism. The dot may not appear round to you. But how bad it is depends on your astigmatism. I have some astigmatism but it doesn't bother me. The dot looks more like a blob instead of being perfectly round but it works just fine.

Also note that most people do struggle a bit in the beginning with picking up the dot on the draw. It may take a fair amount of practice to get this down. Many people will initially align the gun on the draw using the iron sights and then transition to the dot as soon as they locate it.

Leupold DPP for the bigger (taller) glass and brighter dot.

Lifetime warranty is also nice.

Also have a Shield RMS, which has the nicest, roundest 8 MOA dot you'll ever see, but it's tiny (small glass). Probably great for carrying, but not so much for USPSA.

Leupold does not have a lifetime warranty for anything electronic. It’s two years and they haven’t been cool about extending it. The Glock I bought had a dead holosun on it. It barely lasted a few rounds. I think there warranty was five years? They had good customer service though.

As I said everyone’s stuff seems to fail. That’s why I went with vortex. Best warranty.

Got trijicon rmr type 2 6.5 moa non adjustable. Stays on 24/7. Takes getting use to when you bring it up. Im use to 1 dot iron sights. Theyre gtg. Just bought it to see what the fuss is about. Need suppressor sights.

Thank you all. Now is there a MOA that would be best to start with? I was thinking with a 6.5 MOA.

6.5 will cover the target at 10-15 yds, easier to acquire IMHO.
If you want one for both pistol and rifle, 3.25 would be better.
