    its july 1st already?!

stopped by a local walmart tonight wanting to get a box of 9mm and was only worried that i wouldnt find someone who worked at the sport section to help me out. it turned out that wasnt the case, they were also fully stocked with ammo but i ran into a bigger problem... he told me he was told about 1 hr ago by his manger not to sell ammo anymore... no signs saying that and he couldnt explain why and i walked out empty handed and pissed... anyone has encountered the same issue?? i am starting to really hate CA!!!

I’ll drop by local Walmart, will report back if something changed. Most likely I’m just going to end up buying more ammo and cans...

This was in Walmart Mountain View yesterday; finally brought home my first gun from DROS jail and was all ready to buy a boatload of ammo only to see this BS. Lady at the counter said it's been on lockdown since two weeks ago.

I was there 2 weeks ago and she sold me ammo? Could've sworn it was July 1st this was going into effect.

At least your Walmart still sells them. 2 Walmarts in our area no longer sell ammo.

You guys looking for ammo at wallmart should be shopping at a reloading store for a new press. A lot of your fellow calgunners have never suffered with ammo availability issues....OK, except during the 22 dry spell.

You guys should shop local, and keep local gunstores in buisness, it might be worth the extra 5cents a round. Dont give then what they want.

They need to update their system. This takes time. Blame the CADOJ for that and not Wally World. Most of them will start selling again. Now there will be other issues. It is hard enough to find an employee with the key, now we will need to find one with the key, a COE and knows how to use the new system. If an employee with the COE is sick or working another department then... Time to invest in the reloading supplies. Going to make room/clean the garage Friday.

I’ll have to check out my local Walmart’s. Wanted to get a little more .22LR before it starts.

My local was still selling as of Saturday 1st. Sign posted saying out of commission 07/01 through I believe 07/08 only. Sales guy stated the week off sales was for the hardware installation and training.

Is it possible the stores stopping sales early (albeit way early) may not have the hardware installed and stop selling ammo altogether? In that case, they would pack it up, and ship it to other stores. The inconsistencies are something to be aware of. We will see.

now i get it that the next logical step would be to reload your own ammo. however, i for one unfortunately dont have the room for it currently... i hear that walmart will not be able to sell them that 1st week in july. i just dont get why they are stopping it already in june...

i was able to get it on 6/3, but was not able to on 6/4...
