Are the deals worth the price of admission? I've noticed a decline in the value in other outdoor shows unless you are looking for something specific. The last one I attended, didn't seem so after parking, admission and $15 dollar refreshments (which I refused to buy, can't even taste good at that price). Not knocking it just wondering. For those of you that go let me know

I've never found a 'deal' at a gun show. The only things I've ever bought there are targets and cleaning supplies. Those are discounted with some vendors, but not but much.

Edit: speaking strictly about CA gun shows, can't speak for one's out of state

Depends on where your talking about, Calif. gun shows maybe not a good deal most of the time but I can imagine that a deal is found once in a while. Gun shows in my part of ID parking is free, admission 3-5 dollars and always a deal or two. I like small shows.

I go to the local shows when and only if I have nothing better to do. The 10 bucks to get in is worth something to do for an hour or 2. I drag my 6 year old little girl with me. Kind of fun answering her questions and teaching her something new.

If you're buying ammo in bulk it could be worth it. I've been to a gun show that sold 9mm NATO for 16 CPR. Even at Walmart it's a little over 18 CPR and Walmart usually doesn't have any, most other places sell it for around 20 CPR. So if you're buying a lot it could be worth it.

Not really got a decent price on a ppk at a Gunshow but was raped on dros fees plus admission the real deals happen between the sellers the day before the show the last gun show I went to I was a bit disappointed in the selection a lot of new guns that you could order from any gun shop or guns that looked somewhat beat up and priced very high for what they are, supposedly the better gun shows are out of state

If you like beef jerky, tasers, and military surplus slthen sure but if you are looking for a "deal" on guns then no. You might find some ammo at a decent price maybe a cent or 2 cheaper than the store

Speaking from the perspective of one who is well into my seniors years, I remember when gun shows in California were a fun, enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. If you want to get the flavor of what it was once like in California, go the one of the big shows in Vegas or Reno.

As far as I am concerned, unless you want to buy overpriced beef jerky or used Chinese made military style field uniforms I see no value in going to local gun shows.

As noted above attending a local show is certainly not cost effective given all of the costs just to get in.

Agreed but a friend of mine lives in orange county I live in the inland Empire so we go to the OC just to catch up see how the family is doing and walk around for the afternoon but everyone else is right you’re not gonna find any deals but it’s still fun

Have not really seen much in the way you might call a good deal, although, did get bulk ammo for fair $, just wasn't in CA.

CA gun shows are not worth the price of admission IMHO, at least to date.

I go mostly looking for small parts and reloading supplies.Occasionally I'll find a good deal, I got a used Sig Romeo 5 red dot sight for $60 at the last show.
The powder and primer prices at Miwall are cheaper than the local stores.
This is at the Costa Mesa show, there's a show this weekend.

I have found deals on reloading supplies and some firearm parts. Some project firearms old rolling block 22's. I have a friend who is a vendor so I help him set up early and get free entry and parking.So I wander before public comes in.
