    Uh oh....FN goes Bang!!!! Defect?

After discovering a critical flaw that could prevent the gun from firing, DPS began hurriedly replacing roughly 1,500 FNS pistols that replaced the previous sidearm in the name of cost savings.

That to me looks more like a holster issue over a firearm issue. The holster doesn’t fully cover the trigger opening

You have to read further down. I was thinking the same thing. but there are some glaring issues discovered.

The slide is out of battery in these demonstrations below.

First I've heard of any departments issuing FNs. I should get out more.

Shortly after the flaw was discovered, DPS began hurriedly replacing the roughly 1,500 FNS pistols it purchased over four years beginning in the 2015 fiscal year, when it ditched the SIG Sauer pistols that all troopers carried in the name of cost savings.

I agree that FN should have caught that but the article says it only happens to " some " of the guns (I didn't see any hard numbers or percentages listed) so maybe it's something that's being done wrong in a Manufacturing process and not the design?

Although I remember the video of the FN pistol that got malleable, in the magazine well area, because it was left out in the sun.
                That convinced me.

Isn’t this a dupe or is this yet another Fn problem?

It's a very poor article. The ND had nothing to with the story.

Yeah the author really baited the reader with that first story.

The actual info regarding the design flaw is interesting though. I'm surprised the design was commercialized without FN having discovered that during their testing.

I imagine FN will be revising their testing protocols going forward.

Hmm...does this mean that Kommefornia's rule of requiring pistols to pass the drop test is valid and a good thing?
