The gun range is famous for their epic levels of stupidity. Kind of a laughing stock around here.Gun Shop Guy and Rangemaster Guy are usually 100% full of BS. During Freedom Week some goober at The Gun Range in Sac told me that selling LCM's was still against the law since the ruling was federal and not state, and he said that if he sold me a magazine in front of an ATF agent, they couldn't arrest me, but if he sold it to me in front of a sheriff's deputy, I would be arrested and charged with a felony.
Good on you OP for the heads up, and for not needlessly escalating the situation.Comment

I live in sonoma county and it takes about 1-1.5 hours to drive to the nearest indoor range. I would be happy to put up with that idiot if I lived close to that range. I don't think he's right but he's trying to protect his business (in his mind).
Edit- I would also try and call or email the guy with everything to prove you are correct. He might come around to it if he's presented with the various laws and rulings etc.
Imagine how many morons he has to deal with every weekend? He pretty much has to assume everyone is going to do something stupid, try to get something by him at the counter etc.Comment

I'd also go there, IF he was the only game around. But he'd get very tired of me deluging him with info that tells him that he doesn't know what he's talking about.
he set up his "moron" parade with his hardline stance. Think he'd find that life is much simpler if he would mhobsigpic

I don't think he understands the fundamentals of problem here. This is not about 2A people going at each other for pissing game. This is about a very unsatisfied consumer vs an arrogant business.
My house, my rule kinds of attitude is not an idealistic way to run a business. It's very irresponsible towards to customers and commonwealth.
Of course, for safety purpose, because the nature of business is a shooting range, has to enforce to the strict policy. OTHERWISE, you just can not irritate consumers by exercising alpha male pissing contest types of attitude. One really needs to come a common understanding ground.sigpic

I would consider joining the Ukiah Gun Club (also about an hour from Sonoma County). Outdoor range (rifle, handgun, shotgun). It has an annual fee and you can shoot there anytime (unless there is a special event scheduled). My wife and I have been members for 20 years or so and we very highly recommend it.I live in sonoma county and it takes about 1-1.5 hours to drive to the nearest indoor range. I would be happy to put up with that idiot if I lived close to that range. I don't think he's right but he's trying to protect his business (in his mind).

I remember when they first opened. I was pretty stoked to have a range close by but I quit going a few yrs ago. I got tired of the owner. Went there a few times with friends. I didn't really care for his CCW poster at the front door. The last couple of times he'd get pissed over something stupid ( the hanger breaking or BS gun laws ). I didnt need him yelling at me or my buddies. The only thing I can say is his wife was very nice. She hooked me and my buddies with discounts. Even against her husbands wishes. Oh well I see nothing has changed there.A man's GOT to know his limitations.Comment
