KCI Mags Good or Bad???

I stay away from aftermarket mags, some say they're good some say the opposite.

KCI mags should generally be avoided, as they tend to be out of spec and have function problems. I would rate them slightly below Promag, if thats even possible.

Unfortunately, they are the easiest to find and are cheap, so people buy a lot of them. You might get lucky and get some that work well from time to time, but usually people end up ditching them and go buy something better.

Sharp edges and thinner metal. Work fine though.

From personal experience...

KCI magazines that are good:
M-1 Carbine; 15 round and 30 round.
Glock 19; 15 round.
AK 7.62mm; 10 round.

KCI magazines that are okay, not consistantly good, depends on the firearm (replacing magazine spring, helps reliability):
AK 7.62mm; 20 round, 30 round, and 75 round (gen 2) drum.
AR15 5.56mm (HK style); 30 round.
Glock 9mm; 17 round and 33 round.
Glock .40S&W; 31 round.
Glock .45ACP; 26 round.
MP5; 30 round.
M14; 10 round and 20 round.

KCI magazines that are no-go:
AK 7.62mm; 40 round and 75 round (gen 1) drum.
AK 5.45mm; 95 round drum.
AR15 5.56mm; 50 round drum and 100 round drum.
Glock 9mm; 50 round drum.
Glock .45ACP; 50 round drum.
P90; 50 round.

Tested out my new AK 75 round drums and 30 rounders and no issues. Same as the 33 round Glock sticks for my Ruger PCC.

The base pads broke on the KCI 33rd Glock mags that I have experience with. Not from dropping but from full capacity 9mm round spring pressure.

Replaced the base pad with OEM Glock. So far so good.

I got a Korean 9 drum. Yes it feels a bit cheesy. No metal feed lips.
Tight fit in the g17. Did not fit at all in the c9. Mag would not lock in. After some sanding and filing the mag catch slot, it now fits the c9.
Filled it with 50 rounds and test cycled in the carbine. Appears to be gtg. Will update when I have some range time.
