    Motorcycle Cop with SBR?

I was driving thru La Verne today and was behind a motor cop. Behind his seat strap down diagonally with the barrel towards his left was what looked like an AR15 with a short barrel. Definetely not a 16 inch since the whole length was not as wide as the cop. Can anyone verify if they carry SBR's in La Verne or was I just having one of my gun fantasies again?
    Sorry no pictures...

I saw an 11" SBR in a SD County Sheriff cruiser. He did also have a "dude" in the passenger seat though. Could have been some "special" type of guy.

I've seen some Serbu sized shotguns mounted on dirt bikes used by cops on rural / mountain patrol

I'm sure you saw it correctly. Tracy PD carry SBR's and SBS's. The shotguns are short! I thought my 18" felt short, but this one had to be around 12-14". Felt really small shouldering it.

OK, but on a motorcycle? And if I pulled up next to him on his left, the muzzle would have been pointing towards me. That is also what bothers me. They should use a scabbard at least with muzzle pointing towards a safe direction.

There was a thread a while back about someone freaking out about this. There was a pic of it too. I wouldn't even begin to know how to search that one out.

So tempted to get back to La Verne and hang out by the PD station just to get a photo of the motor cop with an SBR. Thats news to itself, I think.

Yes, they carry SBR's. I have regular contact with their officers, so I have seen this firsthand.

Some torrance motor units had an MP5 on back. Not sure if they still do or not. This was on the 90s when I was working at a motorcycle shop there. One of the guys would always come by to show me the new toys they got.

Many of them do in fact carry SBR ARs on their motorcycles. Reasoning for this is because they are often able to be on scene first to the situation.
Pretty sweet how they carry them though, they are in little side saddles much like the Cowboys carried their lever action rifles.

Do speed limits apply offroad? The way you say that it sounds like you're implying you got in trouble.
