My understanding is it’s not modifying the magazine, specifically, but rather selling a “conversion kit” that allows you to modify a magazine. Such kits are banned under 32311, which wasn’t specifically affected by the ruling.

If the vendor installs the mag plate for you on a new magazine, should be fine. A 15 round magazine with a +2 is just a 17 round magazine. Likewise a 10 +2 is just a 12. But that’s assuming the magazine is purchased like that, which doesn’t help you change an existing magazine.

But if you want the extension or capacity, ask the vendor if they will install it for you. Plenty of them will. But obviously you have to buy the new magazine and the extension.

Botach is selling and shipping Kriss extensions without the magazine attached. I think this is just FUD coming from a couple retailers.

I like to think of it more as "fixing" the magazine. Freeing it from a poorly designed mechanical blockage.

TTI is the only major/Gucci manufacturer that I've seen not shipping baseplates to CA.

Hyve, Strike Industries, Shield Arms, etc. all g2g on shipping to CA addresses.

IANAL so I suspect the onus is ultimately on the buyer how they wish to proceed.

The only mags I ever added those to were already 13, 15, 17, capacity so what difference would it make - they are over ten already. A number of vendors have always shipped those here AFAIK... at least since mag kits till now.

That is 100% false. Extensions are fine while this decision is in effect. Manufacturing is completely legal now, and you could 3d print your mags if you want.
