10,000 is way to low. Consider a viable scenario:
California has somewhere from 3-7 million gun owners and 80K AWs were registered, recently. Maybe 10x that went featureless. Plus all the 9mm semi-auto pistols that have sold in the last 10-15 years for active shooters.

Only 0.25% of gun owners (say 8,000 at the low range of the estimate, double that for the higher end) see the news and decide to buy standard capacity magazines.

1,000 people buy 5 magazines each for 4 different platforms (two rifles, two pistols) - 20,000
2,000 people buy 5 magazines for 1 platform - 10,000
5,000 people buy 2 magazines for 1 platform - 10,000

total 40,000 potential buyers is a lot of demand in this market. This could be a year's worth of national consumption in a weekend.

The critical limiting factor is available supply from retailers that had the inventory and were willing, and able to change their systems, to sell over the weekend.

I've been using those standard mag's from day one when I got into guns. Oh wait I shouldnt have not say this out loud... well for sure this being said we're save now. Lol time to take out them drums since their no restriction on mag's. JOKES ON YOU ��������
