    Single or Double case

I prefer plastic/hard sided cases. I'm looking at a couple of Plano cases that are pretty inexpensive.

This one is listed as a single rifle and I can get for $45.41

Or I can get this double case for $69.99

Both of these are on Amazon. I have a Prime visa that I get 5% cash back and have about $36 in cash back available. So getting two of the single cases would cost about $55 while the double case would only be about $35.

    Which one would you get?

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Just going off looks, the double case seems significantly more sturdy. Although I assume it’s significantly larger as well. But in most scenarios you are better off with one large case than with two small cases. Two small cases means both hands are occupied.

Check the dimensions and get whichever one you need.

the single case looks fairly short. It will fit a carbine and a shotgun with an 18” barrel, but I doubt it will it fit a hunting rifle or a shotgun with a barrel longer than 20”
    my Benitez goes to 11

Yeah, the more I look at them the more I like the double case.

I don't hunt and I really don't shoot rifles very much. This case would be for my AR PCC and an AR carbine in 223.

If you have more than one......double.

The second one. And then I'd take the foam out and shove a soft case into it.

If you have optics on both your ARs. They might not for two in a case.

              Look it the internal dimensions.

Lay both your rifles on the ground and measure.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

On the AR-9 I'm just going to use a little reflex sight. I've used it on my Beretta Neos and I take it on and off all the time and it holds zero. I'm hoping that it will do the same on the AR-9.

As for the other one I'm not sure what I'm going to do for optics. I will for sure be putting on a set of low profile flip up sights. After that, who knows.

that double case looks barely wide enough to hold two rifles if they both have optics installed.

i suggest you lay out your 2 rifles, making sure to have at least 1 inch of foam between the closet point between both and also around the entire border of the two rifles, and with that measurement search for cases that can meet it (look for interior dimensions not just exterior)

or just do what someone said earlier. throw out the foam (or just keep 1 layer) and put a double rifle soft case inside.

Hey everybody, there is a gun in here.

The greater the internal weight load the more the container wants to suddenly open. Use an external safety strap.
It is a good idea to have a hard shell carrying case.

If you need or want to carry 2 rifles, I would get the double, making sure that it'll fit 2 riles with optics. Cost is negligible. It's just a box of ammo. Buy once, cry once.

I got the second case, the double one. I don't care if about both having optics on them because I don't have any with optics and not sure that I will.

Right now the only rifle I shoot that has an optic on it is my slightly modified Ruger 10/22.

The problem with double cases is weight.

Well hopefully those wheels on the case roll pretty good.

Ive got a quad case from SKB, it has fantastic wheels.

Its also very heavy. Very heavy when loaded, and the wheels arent a complete solution. With two rifles, an upper, and ammo, it weighed 90lbs. Even with the wheels, it was a pain.
