The 10mm ~

Hello, well I'm gonna stick to my old Browning, but now I'm going to buy a Glock 20 in 10mm.

I have Glock pistols, but not in 10mm.

If you have a pistol ( like a G20 / 29 ) would it be advisable to purchase a Lone Wolf / KKM aftermarket barrel for durability / accuracy ?

I would like to know more about the cartridge for SD~ maybe even a tejon ranch boar hunt..

I just spent about six weeks extensively researching 10 mm.

In the end I cannot speak highly enough of Underwood ammunition for 10 mm.

The Glock 20 is a fine choice but especially when paired with Underwood ammunition.

You may not necessarily need a barrel replacement.

One thing that would be suggestible is a 22lb spring replacement and stainless steel or tungsten rod. Primarily, the spring replacement.

Thank you, I'm going to keep 2 mags with 165 / 180gr HP's ( for the house ) and if I get the chance to save up for a hunt - use 200gr ( and I think there might be a ) 230gr hard cast Underwood / Buffalo Bore ammo.

Of course, I'm going to have to go out to the range, and see how she shoots, and what ammo she likes.

Keep the barrel stock. If you want to add weight just add something useful like a light. For the gen 3 I suggest grip tape. The best mods are either better sights or milled for red dot. I did a 21 pound spring and it cycles everything so far. The trigger is fine and the recoil on the 20 is less than my .38 j frame revolver. I’m actively pig hunting with mine now. I’ll post a buffalo bore ammo review when I get my pig down. Just remember we are moving to copper for hunting. 155 grain tsx BB is the best factory load I’ve found for CA.

The only real problem that I see with 10 millimeter ammunition in general is whether or not over-penetration is going to be a problem and this is of course going to depend on where you live; weather it is in tight, close proximity to population in an urban environment or not so.

Underwood does make lesser heavy cartridges but yet these would exceed 1400 FPS.

They will provide a good range of ammo you can select from and their website will give you a break down detail of what you generally expect and penetration.

As for self-defense and something that falls properly in middle of the range: Hornady 180g XTP.

Thank you for the info, I do have other 9mm pistols that are up front, the 10 would be in my safe room with the 12G..

What Drew me to the 10mn is the variety of ammo and it's power ( if we can say that ).

I am just researching the round, and also the hunts that the tejon ranch has.

I haven't checked my LGS to see if they have Underwood ammo, but I better start making the round. Thanks

Highly unlikely most LGS would carry Underwood. Underwood requires high quotas for sales and most LGS wouldn't sell enough. You can order from them directly to your LGS.

My g20 has a 6" KKM, 22lb spring, titanium guide rod and 3.5lb trigger. Smooth shooter, very accurate and cycles 180-200gr Buffalo Bore or Underwood JHP no prob.

Planning on a G20sf this year, but I’m likely going to treat it like a chubby G22. Alright have some blasting ammo bought !

Don’t forget you can run .40 cal through it at the range to give your G20/29 some exercise...

Great choice for just about anything BTW. Good luck on your pig harvest if your close enough it will get the job done.
