It happened to me at a different gunshop. My ten day wait ended on Friday (2 days ago) and I went in to pick up my new rifle. They told me their DROS system was down so they could not release anything, nor sell anything.
For what the guy behind the counter told me, Cal DoJ usually sends out renewal notices to all the FFL's for their DROS system, but dropped the ball and forgot to do so for over 300 gunshops. So when they tried to log into the Cal DoJ DROS system, it wouldn't let them and they had to call DoJ to figure out what was wrong. The person on the other end told them they had been getting calls all morning about it.
So it's just a matter of how long it takes Cal DoJ to get all this stuff sorted out. Guy behind the counter said to call them Monday to find out if things are back online. They are hoping it gets sorted out by Monday or Tuesday at the latest (shop is closed on Sundays).
Sucks because I wanted to bring home my new rifle, but since it is raining this weekend, I would not have been able to shoot it anyways."All bad precedents began as justifiable measures." Julius Caesar -

Same thing happened to me. Went to pick up a handgun in West Covina after 10 days(yesterday), was told that there was something like, 1,400 FFLs/dealers in California affected.
Clerk said that to call Monday or Tuesday.
Said that it was California that was the problem..Comment

I'm guessing we went to the same place. My 10 days were up last Thursday and was told the same thing. When I called back Friday to check in the said they thought it might be Monday. Good luck - gotta be bad for the gun shops affected. At least the pawn shops have some other business they can doSame thing happened to me. Sounds like a bunch of bull...
I'm in AZ and bought guns twice here during the "shut down" AZ shops call the NATIONAL NICS line (FBI) and there were no delays of issues.
Sounds to me like that shop didn't submit the DROS until much later than the actual sale.Poke'm with a stick!

Yes, the shut down has affected the process. It may take a few weeks to catch up. I got this info from a trusted FFL.Comment
