No BS here. You guys just have bad timing with the DOj.
It is not your gun stores fault.
The DOj sends renewals to all The gun shops every year. They just have to submit the form and pay the fee. By check. Can’t be done online.
For the last couple of years, the DOJ has been failing to send out the renewal notice and every ffl that didn’t take Initiative to send the form and fee on their own got shut out of the dros system at the same time.
When they get shut out they cannot start dros or deliver the firearms, or anything else in the dros system for that matter.
It takes time because they got the notice when they log into the dros system, then have to mail the check and wait for DOj to unlock the dros system for that dealer.

Thanks Caliguy93! That is basically what the guy at the shop told me as well. Only thing I think is stupid is that Cal DoJ won't let you pay online in the year 2019. I thought they had a surplus of funds from the DROS fees! They could invest it into a more modern payment system.
Oh well. With all the rain, I wouldn't have been able to shoot my new rifle this past weekend anyways."All bad precedents began as justifiable measures." Julius CaesarComment

Buy it would be the stores fault.
If I were in business I would make it a priority to be sure and keep up with the required licenses, regardless of any .GOV agency sending a renewal reminder.
Details matter. Especially when doing your required homework to make sure your customers don't suffer because of your laziness and lack of attention to detail.

Hard to argue with. Can't feel too good having to turn away customers because you can't do the required paperwork.Buy it would be the stores fault.
