Impressive, Calgunner's are driving from the SFBA to these ranges. Is that a four hour drive?

Maybe we should caution the gun owners over on Nevguns about this issue related to Nevada gun ranges.Anchors Aweigh

As I was considering retirement in that area in a couple of years, and looking forward to constant target shooting fun at that range, this news is depressing. I played at that range in the early 90s and it was great. Bummer how time changes things. Sounds like NV is moving off my move list. The only thing that is worse than an idiot, is someone who argues with one.Comment

In a state where corruption abounds, laws must be very numerous.

I was out there once on a Saturday and I had no problem with the RSOs. At Washoe you have to leave the action open during cease fires and the RSO there who walks the line will move your gun to get a look at the chamber, which drives a lot of people nuts. I will say that the RSO at Lytle Canyon in SoCal had obviously been schooled in customer service, but it's a bit far for me to go there on a regular basis.
I did notice that I was probably one of the younger guys at the Carson club dinner and I'm about to sign up for Medicare!
One of the problems with hauling out other people's trash is then having to pay to get it in the dump, although I suppose the cost of an extra can once or twice a month is less than the incremental cost of driving somewhere further away. I take some advantage of the fact that most of the homes on my street are vacation places with bear huts.Comment

The answer is for open ranges to become public and charge a fee for shooting.
Every range I attend is like that and each is clean and have to some degree an RO
That said every open range is a garbage dump! Thats every single one from Oregon to Ohio.
I always take out what I bring in but its impossible to police up others garbage !
Sometimes its discouraging to see all the trash. Then Im reminded of the parades, parking lots and even roadways where people routinely drop trash and litter.
Look at the cleanup required after a parade! Maybe County's should provide dumpsters and cleanup for these ranges?
Shooters pay taxes too !Comment
