Yeah, 'cuz shooting is a man's sport, like Golf (Guys Only Ladies Forbidden).

I'm sure there are plenty of mom's out there that have trained their children about gun safety and have introduced them to shooting, and there's nothing wrong with that.

      Exactly that - selfishness.

Yeah, but that fourth one in 7 years will, or if you injure someone bad enough.

Maybe it was a "knee-jerk" reaction on my part due to my utter disillusion and shock over how many "firearm-related" murders have occurred in the last 30 days alone! However confusing my post(s) may have been, my true intentions were there from the start: I'm terrified (like the rest of us) that the blame will be laid on the inanimate object, NOT the failure of the many HUMANS with BRAINS directly involved (the institution brass; the family members; judges;lawyers; DA's; etc) that were/are found severely wanting & need to be put up in front of a jury of their peers.

Understandable -- I think we're all afraid that this recent crazy flurry of shootings will be leveraged against us, much like the Stockton schoolyard shooting was leveraged in CA as a tool for more bans, and similar shootings in Australia and Scotland were also used to ban guns.

However, the public seems to be taking a fairly cool-headed approach to this -- recent polls have shown that the public has not changed their mind about firearms, and the Dems know this still is not the time for a ban, even with the crazy surge in tragedy.

The main thing now is to make sure we don't, as gun owners, support anything that will make it harder to own, use or practice with our guns. It's a slippery slope from there.
