Disappointing Turners experience - or Calguns PSA

I dont work for Turners but I have purchased from them and understand their business

Being one the biggest gun retailers in CA, if not the biggest, must come with CA problems. Because of that, they need to put rules in place in order to not lose their license.

If you didnt notice, CA makes it hard to be a gun owner. I bet they make it even harder to sell guns, the bigger you are the bigger microscope.

I like Turners.. But I know to NEVER expect:
to be waited on at the gun counter without an hour wait
to expect any EZ PPT..or one without needless crap
a sales item to be in stock.
to have anyone at the gun counter that really knows firearms
to have anyone at the gun counter that really knows California laws
That said, they have a good selection of firearms, ammo and fishing tackle.

Eh... I bought a rifle there a few years ago that was on sale. It wasn't a bad experience. Other than that, their prices are usually on the high end and the staff not too knowledgeable, or friendly.

i bought my Beretta 92f and my Beretta Px4 Storm from Turners Norwalk

both of my purchases came when they were having a pretty good sale on the firearm - i made the transaction as easy as possible

both times i went in the store and told them which firearm i was interested in purchasing from their ad - i wasn't even interested in seeing the display firearm because that wasn't going to be the one i receive anyway - it was going to be picked from the inventory they have at their warehouse and in 10 days i could come in, do my final inspection and take it home

i don't ask questions because i already know what im there for - i pay, i leave and came back on pickup day

I have experienced that myself. I have also been passed up for a PPT because someone behind us "in line" was possibly purchasing a firearm. Turner's is what Turner's is, now you know and hopefully you don't return.

Because policies change as well as store to store policies. And your experience pretty much sums up why you call first.

In my opinion it depends on what Turners you go to. Turners in Fountain Valley has always been good to me.

No. That does not do anything or solve any problem. Not at TURNERS. Here is why.

You do not know which moron answers when you call. By the time you get there, that moron is nowhere to be found and a different imbecile is at the counter with his own versions of regulations.
Not doing a ppt because of no mag present shows that the TURNERS guy was a royal d!ck head. People need to use their brains. That is why god gave every one a head and a brain.
1. TURNERS' guy could have reached into the counter display, grabbed a mag, and done the safety demo.

2. He could have left the safety sheet blank and asked the customer to bring one with him at pick up and do the safety routine then.

Of course, the brainless d!ck did not do any of that. He just turned the customer away.

If we see so many complaints from TURNERS by calgunners, just think about the thousands who do not post here.

Umm seriously?

Have you heard of "speaking to the manager in charge"?

if that can't happen you DO NOT confirm PPT with any party until you know that PPT will go through smoothly. You write down who you talked to, when you talked to them and have a back up person that can corroborate, most likely the cashier. its so simple that a child could figure it out.

This is not just a Turners thing BUT a PPT thing.

Think about it...two parties are taking time out of their day to meet up and do a serious transaction...just because all the others went smoothly doesnt mean any future ones won't go smoothly.
